NYNOG Announces 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Status to Enhance Network Operator Education

New York Network Operators Group (NYNOG) Provides Educational Events and Programs

New York, NY, March 23, 2017    (Newswire.com) - NYNOG (New York Network Operators Group), is proud to announce it is now officially a nonprofit with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. NYNOG is also now eligible to apply for government and foundation grants, which will further broaden its access to resources and strengthen its ability to provide educational events and programs to the tri-state area.

“Obtaining 501(c)(3) status enables NYNOG to provide the New York metro area greater network operating education to the local tech community thereby benefiting local businesses, institutions, and students.” remarked Christian Koch, President of NYNOG.  “The granting of a nonprofit status to NYNOG is a major milestone for our growing organization, and we are excited to give network operators and tech enthusiasts alike the insights they need to understand the intricacies of network operating” he added.

Since its formation in May 2016, NYNOG has been providing a casual environment to share experiences, ideas, and discuss innovative solutions to the complex problems the networking world faces.  To help guide the organization and ensure fulfillment of its mission, a Board of Directors and supportive committees with a combined experience of over 125 years in networking and internet infrastructure was assembled.

NYNOG holds its next event on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Work-Bench on 5th Avenue in New York City at 6pm ET.  Tickets to attend can be obtained through the NYNOG website, www.nynog.org.
